Artist's Comments

It was so interesting there.
To get a bird's eye view of a circus...
To walk through this moment
Forever paused in Time.

It made you wonder about this small world
Where had all those people come from?
Who were they?
And where were they going?

Why a red balloon?

I guess it's kind of silly
To wonder at the imagined lives of figurines
Still, it puts it into perspective
How small we really are...

A birthday is just a day, you say.
But it's a special day.
It's the day you first changed the world.

If you want to create a really good effect, you should make it so the rest of the picture has nothing close to red (easy to Photoshop). That would make the balloon stand out a lot more.

Maybe I'll try that and put up a link... then people can decide which they like better. But I kind like how you have to search the picture. You have to look for it. It's not all put out there for you.. you know?

Putting in all that other stuff in bright colors make the balloon that much less meaningful.

i like the symbolism of the 'clutter' in the image. it's almost like your eyes aren't finding anything of significance, until you read the AC and then you're like....aah, now i get it. :XD: the second time i looked at it, i experienced something totally different. it had..meaning. isn't that the beauty of art?. it changes! actually not it, but us and our looking glasses.

i love how Louis Giglio talks about how small we are. i often have to remind myself of how small my problems really are, or rather how awesomely, scaringly big God is.

i also like how it's taken so that the figurines look 'normal sized'. like someone from the outside is on their scale and level. isn't it amazing that God can do that with us?

P.S. it also made me think of 99 red balloons, because i like the song =P
